Die Stadt Kolberg liegt in Pommern an der herrlichen Ostseeküste, ungefähr auf halbem Weg zwischen der Mündung der Oder und der Stadt Danzig. Auch heute erfreut sich der Badeort wegen seiner natürlichen Solequellen, der medizinisch wirksamen Moore und natürlich aufgrund der Lage am goldgelben Osteestrand jedes Jahr einer großen Zahl von Erholungssuchende aus ganz Polen. Die Lehrkräfte haben alle Germanistik studiert und verfügen über eine zusätzliche Lehrbefähigung für das Unterrichten von Polnisch für Erwachsene. Das Lehrmaterial ist auf Polnisch. Nach der Ankunft absolvieren die Teilnehmer einen Einstufungstest und verteilen sich in Kleingruppen von ca. 2 bis 8 Personen auf etwa 3-4 Leistungsgruppen von Anfänger bis zu Fortgeschrittenen. Immer zwei Lehrkräfte, eine Frau und ein Mann, betreuen abwechselnd eine Lerngruppe.
